President Tsai Ing-wen says the government would like to thank Eswatini’s for its strong support for Taiwan’s bid to participate in the international community. Tsai was speaking Tuesday while meeting with visiting Eswanti Prime Minister Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini.
Dlamini is leading a delegation to attend the National Day celebrations on October 10. This is his first visit to Taiwan.
Tsai said Dlamini’s visit indicates his emphasis on the long-standing friendship between the two sides.
“At the United Nations’ assembly last month, King Mswati III urged the United Nations to allow Taiwan to participate in related events with dignity and parity. When [you] attended the UNFCCC COP 24 meeting last year, you also spoke out in favor of Taiwan and recognized Taiwan’s efforts to fight climate change. We are grateful for these supportive actions," said Tsai.
President Tsai said the two countries have produced tremendous results in their cooperation in agriculture, medical care, hygiene and human resources.
