This year’s National Day fireworks show will be held in the southernmost county of Pingtung. It is set to be the longest Double Ten fireworks display in the history of Taiwan.
You can hear the chirping of birds as you walk through the Super South Design Expo . You can also enjoy the newest VR technology like Pingtung County Magistrate Pan Men-an is. The design expo is running through October 20. Those who plan to go to Pingtung for the National Day fireworks can enjoy many of the county’s attractions.
Many hotels are already fully booked. B & Bs in the nearby island of Xiaoliuqiu are also pretty much booked. They’re looking at around 15,000 people visiting the island over the long weekend.
Pingtung’s fireworks show is going to be the longest in history at 42 minutes with a total of 16,280 fireworks. Many people are planning to go to the south for the long weekend. Pingtung County is expecting about 200,000 visitors to watch the fireworks. That means about NT$260 million in business. If you add revenue from accommodations, that should add up to NT$500 million.
The Pingtung Lantern Festival was a hit early this year and now its hosting the National Day fireworks. Pingtung County Magistrate Pan now has the highest approval rating of all local leaders. The national events are bringing a lot of visitors and local pride to beautiful Pingtung County.
