Tsai: US-Taiwan relations have reached a new high

President Tsai Ing-wen says that US-Taiwan relations are the best they have ever been. This came during a meeting between Tsai and a delegation from American think tank the Wilson Center.

Tsai says that cooperation between the two sides is constantly growing. She says that the US is dutifully fulfilling the terms of the Taiwan Relations Act and its six assurances. Tsai also said that since US President Donal Trump came into power, America has authorized five arms sale packages to Taiwan.

During the meeting, President Tsai said that Taiwan’s domestic defense industry is hard at work. She says the US showed strong support during the unveiling of Taiwan’s indigenous advanced jet trainer. Tsai says that this continued support will help grow the US-Taiwan partnership, as well as ensure to regional stability.

Tsai said that despite pressure from China, Taiwan will continue to be a force of peace and goodwill. Taiwan will continue to work with countries that share similar values, to maintain peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

President Tsai said that over the past three year, American investment in Taiwan has increased, showing that the two countries share a strong economic partnership.
